The Penny Bear Company is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization established to provide opportunities for people of all ages to work together with their hands and hearts for a common purpose . . . to share messages of love, hope, and healing through charitable outreach projects in local communities and beyond.
Penny Wigglesworth of Marblehead started Penny Bear after her own near-death experience following an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Each bear which wears a head band and lovely hand knit sweater with a penny sewn behind an embroidered heart. Irresistible! They are given to a individuals and families in crisis.
